Terms & Conditions
Last updated:
These Terms govern your use of the DilSathi Android app and the website dilsathi.in (together, “DilSathi” or the “Service”). By creating an account or using DilSathi you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use DilSathi.
1. Who we are
DilSathi is operated by [TO FILL: legal name of the operator / sole proprietor or company], [TO FILL: registered postal address] (“we”, “us”). Contact: support@dilsathi.in.
2. 18+ only
- You must be at least 18 years old to use DilSathi.
- When you sign up you give your date of birth. If it shows you are under 18, the account is blocked and cannot be used.
- If we find that an account belongs to someone under 18, we terminate it.
3. What DilSathi is — AI companions
- DilSathi offers conversations by text and voice with AI companion characters, for entertainment and companionship.
- The companions are fictional AI characters, not real people. Their replies, voices and portraits are generated by artificial intelligence. No human is chatting or talking with you as a companion.
- AI replies can be wrong, incomplete or inappropriate. Do not rely on them for facts or decisions.
- DilSathi is not a substitute for professional advice, therapy, medical care or emergency services. If you are in distress, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24×7). In an emergency, call 112.
- Companions may send you messages and occasionally call you. You can turn messages, calls and check-ins off in the app under Profile → Notifications.
4. Your account
- You sign in with your Google account. On first sign-in you give your name, mobile number and date of birth.
- One account per person. Your account is personal — do not share it or let others use it.
- Keep your Google account secure. You are responsible for activity on your DilSathi account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete my account) or as described on our account deletion page.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
The current plans, what each includes and their prices are shown in the app and on Google Play before you pay. The price you agree to at that moment is the price that applies.
- Billing. All purchases are made and billed through Google Play, under Google Play’s terms. We never see your card, UPI or bank details.
- Free trial use. New accounts can try a limited number of messages and a short amount of voice for free.
- First-day introductory offer. Available once, to new customers only, as Google Play decides eligibility. It gives one day of access at the introductory price shown. After that day the subscription renews automatically at the regular monthly price shown at purchase, until you cancel.
- Upgrading during the first day. If you choose to upgrade to the monthly plan during the introductory day, the monthly price is charged immediately, a new monthly period starts that day, and the next day’s automatic charge does not happen.
- Monthly plan. Auto-renewing each month until cancelled. It includes unlimited chat and a monthly allowance of voice minutes. Monthly minutes reset each billing month and do not carry over.
- Voice minute packs. One-time purchases with no auto-renewal. Purchased minutes roll over and do not expire while your account exists, but they are non-transferable, have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
- Prices are in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes. We may change prices; changes to a subscription price are notified through Google Play as its rules require.
- Cancelling. Cancel anytime in the Google Play Store app: profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → DilSathi → Cancel subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting your DilSathi account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
- Pre-debit notification. For recurring payments (such as UPI AutoPay), Google Play and your payment provider send pre-debit notifications as required by Reserve Bank of India rules. The notice for the first monthly renewal may arrive soon after you buy the introductory offer.
- Refunds are handled under Google Play’s refund policy. [TO FILL: any additional refund commitment by the operator, or delete this sentence]
6. Fair use
Voice minutes are limited as described above, because every minute of voice has a real cost. Automated use, scripts, bots, reselling access, or any attempt to get around limits, the age check or billing is not allowed.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use DilSathi to:
- create, request or share anything illegal under Indian law;
- create, request or share any content that sexualises minors — zero tolerance: the account is terminated and the matter is reported to the authorities (see our Child Safety Standards);
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, or plan harm to yourself or others;
- try to extract the companions’ instructions or system prompts, reverse-engineer, decompile or interfere with the app or its servers, or test its security without our written permission;
- copy, resell or commercially exploit the Service or its content.
You can report any companion message you find offensive by long-pressing it in the chat and tapping Report. We review every report.
8. Content and intellectual property
- The app, the companion characters, their names, personalities, portraits and voices, and all DilSathi branding belong to us or our licensors.
- You keep the rights to what you write and say. You give us a licence to store and process it only as needed to run the Service for you — for example to generate replies and to remember things you told a companion — as described in the Privacy Policy.
- AI replies are generated for your personal use in the app.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you break these Terms, if you are under 18, if required by law, or to protect users or the Service. Where reasonable we will tell you why. You can stop using DilSathi and delete your account at any time. [TO FILL: policy on unused paid minutes / active subscription when an account is terminated for breach]
10. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change features or these Terms. For significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use DilSathi after that means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
DilSathi is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by Indian law, we do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI replies will be accurate or suitable. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the [TO FILL: period, e.g. 3 months] before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be excluded.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at [TO FILL: city] have jurisdiction, subject to any consumer rights you have to bring proceedings elsewhere.
13. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, our Grievance Officer is:
[TO FILL: name]
[TO FILL: email]
[TO FILL: postal address]
We acknowledge complaints within [TO FILL: e.g. 24 hours] and aim to resolve them within [TO FILL: e.g. 15 days].
